Individual therapy sessions also allow you to understand yourself and your circumstances better, overcome challenges that life throws your way and build your path to mental wellbeing.

My individual therapy services are designed to help my clients with such issues as trauma, anxiety, grief and loss.

But that’s not a closed list, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re dealing with something different.

One of the major therapy approaches I use is called CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This therapy approach is known for its flexibility and effectiveness.

What are your challenges right now?

Counselling comes to your aid in a number of situations; here are some of the most common ones:

Anxiety: Are you constantly worried and have lost the joy of life? Let’s talk about that!
Relationship issues: Counselling will help you improve your relations with other people – your partner, friends, family and coworkers.
Grief and loss: If you’ve lost a loved one, you may feel sad and alone. Let’s work through these difficult emotions together.
Overwhelm: Sometimes, you feel like there is a huge storm headed your way – I will help you find peace and balance.
Trauma: A difficult past can influence your life even many years later. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
My family therapy approach

In my therapy, I’m focused on you and your needs and always strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can be open about your feelings and experiences. I believe it’s the only way to start healing and improve your mental wellbeing in the long-term perspective.

I use an integrative therapy approach that’s flexibly tailored to your
needs and goals so that you receive the support you need. Below,
you will find out more about the two main therapy modalities I use
in my work, but integrative therapy means that I can also use other
modalities and techniques if they will help you get where you want to be.

Therapist Calgary
Collaboration & Problem solving

I offer a safe place for you to process your thoughts, explore your feelings, clarify your goals and support your growth.

I work with you to find solutions that support your ongoing mental health. I am committed to working with you and for you in order to find strategies tailor-made for your journey.

Two main therapy modalities I use in my work

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy

It’s one of the most flexible and effective therapy approaches. CBT is based on a simple yet proven premise – our thoughts, feelings and actions are intertwined and affect one another. A change in your thoughts will affect your feelings and actions as well. CBT helps you identify adverse thought patterns that influence the way you feel and act. And when that’s done, we can work on changing them or even removing them altogether from your life.

CBT has been proven to work for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, overwhelm and even relationship issues.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing

EMDR is an evidence-based approach that can be effective for those struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

EMDR typically uses bilateral brain stimulation through guided eye movements. This stimulation, along with the counsellor’s support, allows you to distance yourself from the difficult past experience and gradually start to view it as distant and insignificant. EMDR has helped many of my clients overcome traumatic experiences.

Start family counselling with me

The decision to start counselling is not necessarily an easy one, so don’t feel pressured to reach out. Keep in mind, though, that you don’t have to deal with your challenges on your own. Sometimes, we all need just a little bit of support to keep going.

If you’d like to find out more about my therapy approach, I’m at your service! You can book a free initial consultation with me. During this call or online meeting, you’ll get to ask your questions about therapy, and I’ll tell you a bit more about my experience and approach.

This call will take about 15 minutes, and it doesn’t obligate you to start counselling with me.

I look forward to talking to you!
